Rustic Wooden Coat Rack with Shelf & 5 Hooks - Wall Mounted for Entryway, Mudroom, Kitchen

Rustic look, a little light weight, but sturdy enough to do the job. Very pretty.This coat rack shelf is great, both in appearance and function. I put something on almost every hook immediately after mounting it, heavy winter coat, heavy jacket, raincoat, and a couple hoodies. I haven't had any trouble so far, it's been a couple of weeks. I also use the shelf part for my wallet and keys.My only gripe with this item is the mounting holes, the ones that slide over the screw heads, were not routed properly. They weren't wide enough to allow the screw heads to insert under the cover plate. I have a dremel tool,so I just removed the cover plates and widened the slots myself. If you don't have a dremel tool you'd probably have to send it back and get a replacement. I believe this was a random defect, but something to be aware of.Overall, I really like the item and recommend it.So it was sturdy for sure. The construction of it was good. The stain was even and looked good. The only problem with the stain is that there was no clear seal coat over the stained wood. When we held it up to the wall to mount it, it left brown stain marks on the wall. OOPS!!The other thing that was sort of annoying is that the mounting spots were less than 16." Since most houses in the USA are designed to a 16" stud distance it would be much better to have them spaced at 16" not 15.2". It was just too small to hit the studs in our wall correctly.Bought this to replace an older bathroom shelf, definitely needed a little shelf with the edge on it. Perfect for scentsy wax melter, no worry of it moving and falling!I am in love with this shelf and coat rack. The color is a nice deep brown and the hooks feel sturdy. We hang several winter coats and purses on it and so far has held up. I purchased because it said it was solid wood, but I’ll be honest, it feels a bit lighter than I would expect a solid wood piece to feel. Either way, it is getting the job done and looks great. For a coat rack, one should NOT design the wall mounting like you would a picture frame. It would be nice to be able to hang stuff on these hooks without "worrying" about being extra careful every time you grab your coat or bag or umbrella, etc.I added an additional wall mounting screw to better secure this piece, and this helped for several months. As of today, I need to go back and add at least two more screws to keep this rack from "popping up and off" the wall. I have a moderate amount of experience over the years with hanging various items from walls, and this is the most frustrating "mount" that I have ever had to deal with.Overall, the piece looks nice, but the quality is only "average" at best. The pine wood is very thin and the rack is very light-weight. Sort of looks like a piece that a boy scout would build for a project. Not really worth the cost, especially given my critiques about the wall mounting issues.Overall nice product, but it seems unfinished. No need for assembly. Note, the stain will leave marks on the wall since there is no clear coat finish. I painted a clearcoat myself. The hardest thing is hanging it on the wall. The screws provided aren’t great, I had to get new screws for hanging it, it would be better to screw the rack with screws on the outside to be able to use anchor hooks and attach it to the wall better.This is great by the door to hang the dog leashes and umbrellas. I sprayed it with a matt clear poly finish so i could use it outside under a covered side door. Has held up well after 1 year of use.Very happy with my new coats hanger. I like the colour and design. The little shelf on the top is very useful.
