Despite a couple dented metal posts, this is a very nice product to help organize AV components. When I first assembled the shelf rack per the instructions, the bottom shelf had the tallest space. I ran with this for a bit, but decided to add a fan unit (vented to the rear) atop the AV receiver, increasing the height requirement. Not wanting to put this receiver/fan combo to the bottom shelf, I re-assembled the entire rack to "move" the tallest shelf to top. Now it all fits nice. While I was at it I ordered a shelf for the bottom space since I didn't need all the shelves for thin AV components. The shelf mops up lots of "stuff" into the "basement" of the rack.Wife didn't like the black shelves, but knowing my luck, the available wood finishes probably would not have matched those book shelves. So black it is. One listen to the new system seems to have put this "decorating blunder" in the past. Whew. The sturdy posts make for a stable and sensible place to lash and tidy up wiring as shown with the speaker cabling and some of the HDMI cables. Posts are big so think Pi times diameter plus cables... I purchased 12 inch velcro wire straps for this purpose. This works better than I hoped taming the cable mess especially as seen from the front. The carpet spikes are the bomb. I hate carpet. Take THAT carpet.I would like to see optional shorter posts (2.5 inch or so) to provide more shelves for thin components in the same height... one component per shelf rather than stacking components in a taller space. Yeah... mechanical overkill, but this is about looks too you know.I almost took a star off for the dented posts, but I like the result well enough. The concept of how all this works with some simple and basic mechanical interconnections is brilliant. If this thing was a human it'd be named Billiam, a corn on the cob driven, square headed offensive lineman for a D1 schoolin, volunteer to serve his country and lieutenant Dan has no legsin, gosh dang bless America and no place elsein Patriot. This is a solid audio rack for not a lot of money. Easy and quick to assemble. Everything fit perfectly. Done and ready to go in about 15 minutes. I wish they paid attention to the finish of the shelves a bit more, and they need to rethink how the shelves are packaged. The laminate has some sharp edges that I had to file down, and, although nowhere visible, there were some scratches and discolored areas on the bottoms.Good sturdy shelf. Not sure why the feet are points, though. Can’t slide at all and makes stereo installation difficult at best.Value for money, you cannot beat this rack. I was apprehensive it would arrive badly damaged, based on previous experience with shipping heavy items. The packaging did arrive damaged. Two of the shelves had a very slight indentation on the one edge which was a non issue, since it faced to the back and was not noticable.Assembly was quick and the fit and finish first class. The rack becomes very sturdy when you torgue up the pipes and load it with components. I have over 140lb on it and its rock steady. I would have liked thicker shelves as these are a bit resonant. I am using an isolated granite slab under the turntable which stops any resonance getting to the sensitive cartridge. I don't think a high end and very much more expensive audio rack would give much better performance. I am considering adding the LP storage kit in future or even to make a 2nd unit just for vinyl's and some smaller components which are now under the rack.I have not seen a better audio cabinet, period. This is a nice stable unit that has good spacing for all my components. I particularly like that this unit has more depth than some more expensive stands. Heavy unit. I also put casters on it which will allow me to get to back easily. This is a nice feature. Very attractive unit in the black MDF. Wish that had opening in the tubes to put sand for even greater stability.Nice and sturdy and looks good. Easy to put together. I added the LP shelf to the bottom which makes the whole thing perfect.
