These work very well and look super. They can be mounted with base exposed or behind wall- carpenters choice. The only design flaw is the screw holes; I have a number of different tools, but getting the right angle on the screws closest to the pole can be challenging, the easiest and least inexpensive solution is go old school and buy a long shaft screwdriver, as a battery/electrical screwdriver isn't going to work and the screw will not set flush or you'll snap the head off.I received this product last week.Upon taking them out of the box, the two brackets appear to be very durable and sturdy. They are well design and easy to unlock to unfold the shelf or fold back up the shop.Along with the package, it came with anchor screws that drive into the sheet rock, as well as smaller screws to attach your wooden shelves to the brackets.I purchased the 20 inch bracket because I needed the attic space in my laundry room. Although the package came with the anchor screws into the sheet rock, I will I wanted something more solid. With a stud finder, I was able to anchor the brackets into the studs for more sturdiness and strength.I did purchase 210 inch boards to fit over the brackets, and in doing so, the eight screws that the product came with, I was able to attach them to the bracket. The brackets are very easy to use. Warning: prepare to catch the shelf when you are folding it down, as it would come down pretty fast and hard and hurt yourself. All in all, I believe this was a great price for what I’m using it for.According to the ad, the brackets can hold up to 400 pounds. I don’t plan on using this to carry anything more than maybe perhaps laundry soap and fabric softener in my laundry room. Furthermore, I don’t believe the anchoring screws for the sheet rock wall would be able to hold up that much weight unless you are drilling the brackets directly into the studs.Thank youOverall the 12" floating brackets I used provided a solid mounting for floating shelves. There are some issues to be aware of. 1. If used on a wall stud only two of the four base holes will fit on a stud with the base horizontally. If you put the base vertically, that would require to a much thicker shelf or a back plate. I suppose you could use a combination of both wood screws and dry wall anchors horizontally.2. The supplied screws are just terrible. Most of them sheared off when screwed into pre-drilled stud holes. A #6 1 1/2" Spax screw works well. They may be OK for use with the supplied dry wall anchors.3. Most of the rods looked square to the base plates, but when installed some were not. This may be due to variations in the mounting substrate. Mine were mounted into dry wall nailers through sheet rock. A 1/2" shelf mounting hole may be too tight to slide the shelf onto. 9/16" worked better.Only complaint is that the edges and lever is sharp. I cut myself trying to operate. Also the angle once open is more like 88 degrees. So had to compensate with a shim to get true 90 degrees. Also not enough clearance when folded down for it to fold completely.Used these for a thick floating shelf to put small tv on in the kitchen it worked great. The ad described solid stainless steel rods. I might have thought I received the wrong product, but the weight of this product matches the advertised weight of 1.21 pounds including the box. Most of the weight is in the flat mounting plates. 4 x 10" of 1/2" diameter solid stainless steel rod would weigh 2.2 pounds by itself, not including the mounting plates, box and hardware. The description on the box matches the "Heavy Duty..." title in the ad, but this is a very light duty hollow bracket made of thin sheet metal wrapped into a tube. A 12" deep shelf made of these might hold someone's origami collection, but can you be sure no one will ever lean against that shelf?Other issues with the ad that should have tipped me off...The total weight capacity of these four brackets is either 600 lbs (photo says "A pair of bracket supports gravity 300lb, 140kg"), 328 lbs (82 lbs per rod in the product description) or 660 lb ("each pair of our stainless steel brackets makes the weight loading ability almost double to around 330 lbs / 150 kg" in the bullet list below the title.)The "Technical Details" section says this item has 85 horsepower. What? The free level is also inaccurate. It claims my newly installed countertop is off level in one direction, but if I turn the level around the other side is high. You'd be better off just eyeballing it or measuring from the floor or ceiling. If you don't own a level or a tape measure, you probably don't have the equipment to drill a 10-inch deep hole into a shelf without coming out one side or the other. It does seem to be very nicely powder coated and finished, but what's the point if it's hidden inside a shelf that probably won't survive someone resting an elbow on it?I used the brackets to create a collapsible shelf instead of my enclosed snowmobile trailer. They fold up perfectly with ease as long as you take care to install them squarely and properly.Very heavy duty, well made and still holding up. But didn’t used the Screws that came with it.For table in my toy hauler
