Good finish. Very strong. Used two of these to make a glass topped shelf on my wall for a very large computer and surround amplifier. Bolted two rubber feet to the top of each bracket to stop the glass from sliding and prevent scratching it. The only down side to doing this is that there's no support in the middle and that allows the ends, passed the support brace, to bend down somewhat. By no means to the point that I'm worried about it but I'll be adding another foot to each to try and correct the flexing. As some others have said, for this bracket or maybe reviews for others by the same company, these are not quite square. They are maybe 3 or 4 degrees obtuse from 90 degrees. I think that may be done on purpose. Think about it for a bit. These are rated at 500 lbs. each. Normally you buy two (or more). Well, that's half a ton. Let's repeat that so we all understand it: half a TON. A.K.A 1,000 lbs. That's going to make just about anything bend some. Bet anyone money they put that half ton on these and they'll be pretty much square.UPDATE: 05/24/13Thought I'd go ahead and update this as I've added the extra rubber feet I spoke about above. I couldn't find any more feet in my kibbles 'n bits box. (The rubber feet I put on first came off the bottom of an old Peavey Bass amplifier.) I used some rubber vibration pads I took off the AC evaporator on my truck. The extra pad, right over the support brace, took almost all of the flex out of the ends. Honestly, there was only a little bending to begin with. Adding the extra feet was just to see if it would work and it did.In light of my update, I've decided to up my initial rating of 4 stars to 5.I'll definitely be buying more of these for more heavy duty applications. I've got this engine hoist scheme in mind...Using 2x6 and 2x4 to make a deer skinning brace these added a lot of support. Very sturdy and should last a long time.I just got my shelves up and installed about 2 months ago in the garage. The brackets seem strong and sturdy. No problems are issues and I would order again if I need more. The packaging when they arrived wasn't great, but if they are strong they should have survived any packaging (if not I would not have wanted to install them). No issues. I would recommend. These definitely don’t hold 1,000lbs but they will hold enough for what I need. They seem to be well built and they were easy to install. I’m happy with the purchase. The price fluctuates a lot and they put a limit on how many you can buy which is annoying.I purchased 2 of these as shelf brackets for heavy Items. Be sure to use large good quality fasteners when installing. They will serve you well if you do.It's a bracket. Heavy duty, well made. I used it to hang a squirrel-proof bird feeder, which needed to be at least 18" from the tree or post wrom which it hangs. This fit the bill nicely.WHAT IS WITH THE PRICE?? I bought one to make sure they were ok. It was about thirteen. I LOVED the bracket so got one more...only eight something. Now, I’ve told friends these brackets are great, and I want two more also, and the price jumped WAY up close to twenty, and now at sixteen. These are great brackets, but enough is enough!! Gouging the customer is NOT nice! Many idiots buy these and mount them incorrectly. There needs to be a warning in the package with them which warns idiots away from installation.Very heavy duty
